So with the changes that we need to make, one of the things I'm giving consideration to is who writes the segments in the fed.
I'll be honest and hold my hands up now. I'm happy to write segments and, in actual fact, I prefer to write them, thus giving you handlers a surprise in the shows. However, if I'm tasked with writing the matches too, then I'll put the segments back into the control of the handlers and let them write their own.
My question to you guys is, with the removal of the divisions, what would you prefer? Would you prefer to write your own segments? Or would you prefer for me to write the segments? Bare in mind if it's the latter, I need to delegate match writing duties to handlers. Andy is coming in as a match writer, which is a wonderful thing, but it would be superb if he could rely on assistance when needed.
I prefer the fedhead written segments, both because I hate coming up with segment ideas myself and because I feel like it makes the shows better, more cohesive. Furthermore, no one handler can get more camera time then they've earned by simply loading up on segments. To this end, I'll try to take a match a week, if need be.
This seems fairly unanimous already and it goes hand in hand with my preferences. The hope then is that handlers will be willing and able to volunteer their writing skills to the occasional match as and when required. As I say, the plan is for Andy to come in and write the majority, as that's what he wants to do and that's help we need. It's just that many hands make light work and light work makes for a long lasting fed.
