A new multimedia broadcasting service has launched: FRESH TV. Created by British communications mogul and self-made billionaire, Patrick Becker, FRESH TV aims to provide satellite television subscription services to homes across the globe, as well as fibre optic high speed internet and low cost land line telephone packages.
FRESH TV is a direct broadcast satellite provider with its own range of television channels, including:
FRESH 1
FRESH Music
FRESH Sport
FRESH Cinema
FRESH Comedy
FRESH Drama
FRESH4Kids
FRESH Education
It also carries rights to more than 40 of the most popular television channels, such as FOX, HBO, Comedy Central, MTV, Universal, SyFy and many more.
FRESH TV has recently launched in North America and the United Kingdom, where the aim is to rival companies such as DirecTV, BskyB, Virgin Media, British Telecom, DISH Network and Comcast, as well as others.
As part of Becker’s vision for the service, he has included wrestling and MMA content on his FRESH Sport channels. However, due to existing rights with some of the major names in these industries, such as WWE, UFC and Bellator, Becker was unable to acquire them for the FRESH network. As an alternative, he has elected to launch his own promotions, investing huge sums of money into a mixed martial arts promotion and a wrestling promotion respectively.
Becker’s goal is to attract ratings through a subscription audience, which will ultimately prove to be a lucrative earner for him and the FRESH TV brand.
Engage Wrestling has been launched with Patrick Becker’s financial support, run by a management team hand-picked by Becker as competent enough to create the biggest storylines, attract the biggest names and ultimately sell out arenas.
The promotion is managed and guided by Jeremy King, who is the Vice President of Operations.
Patrick Becker - Engage Wrestling Chairman
In the public eye, this British business tycoon is suave, sophisticated and an all-around gentleman. He's got a reputation as being a generous philanthropist and as being someone who promotes love and prosperity wherever he goes. However, behind closed doors, he's a very private individual. While he's manipulated the public's perception of him spectacularly, those who work closely with him know an altogether different Patrick Becker. While he's the Chairman of Engage Wrestling, he's entrusted the operations to Jeremy King. However, he will ultimately have the final say on the important issues, whether King approves or not.
Jeremy King - Vice President of Operations
Vice President of Operations for Engage Wrestling is a glorified title for "Patrick Becker's Puppet". While King himself is an honest, humble, hard-working individual - he's often faced with the dirty jobs that Becker delegates to him; jobs Becker himself doesn't want to do. What it means is that if there's a negative decision made by Becker, King is the man to deliver the news, often to his detriment. Jeremy is seen as something of a hard ass, when really he's just the hands for a boss who doesn't want to sully his glowing public persona.
Mark Maxwell - Chief Correspondent
This journalist-turned-wrestling correspondent is a man who prides himself on professionalism. While he’s certainly not afraid to ask the hard-hitting questions, he does so with tact and grace, in a manner that only a 12-year media veteran could.
Angel Santos - Backstage Correspondent
Having just graduated from University with a Media degree, Angel has successfully landed her first job with Engage, thanks to a successful audition tape that featured interviews she conducted with local figures in the public eye. What’s immediately clear about Miss Santos is that her inexperience is bolstered by her ruthlessness when it comes to asking the controversial, no-nonsense questions. She has attitude and sass, both of which pours out in every interview she conducts. Prepare to be offended by her line of questioning; just know that she doesn’t give a shit.
Kyle Newman - Play-by-Play Commentator
Confidence? Check. Positive energy? Check. Wrestling knowledge? Check. As a life-long wrestling fan, Newman knows a few things and that becomes evident when you listen to him call a match. He’s also blessed with a gift of being able to draw you in with his narration, thanks to his smooth vocal tones and sharp wit. He’s one of life’s good guys and popular among most.
Clint Knox - Colour Commentator
For everything positive that Kyle Newman brings to the table, Clint Knox destroys with his cynical, glass-half-empty view of the world. This grizzly commentating veteran has been around the circuits as an announcer, a manager and even a wrestler for a few months in his early-20s. The journey he’s travelled has, in his own view, given him licence to harshly critique everything, which he often does with his holier-than-thou attitude. Clint is a shit head, quite frankly – but he’ll tell you that he’s perfect and everything you do sucks.
Alexis Stone - Ring Announcer
The official ring announcer for all Engage Wrestling events.
Dale Pratt - Official Time Keeper
The official time keeper for all Engage Wrestling events.
Harry "Hot Shot" Henderson - Senior Referee
The senior official, responsible for overseeing referee duties for all main events and title fights.
James Cortez – Referee
An official Engage Wrestling referee, responsible for officiating sanctioned matches where required.
