Expect some regular 'Community Chat' posts from me, as I aim to delve into the minds of the fantastic handlers who play here (either bravery or stupidity on my part, this). Also, feel free to post some yourself if there are any topics you're curious to discuss with the handlers here.
This particular topic looks at the current state of e-fedding in 2016.
I'd love to hear reasons why people think the game is NOT in a good state of affairs. I'd also love to hear reasons why people think the game IS in a good state of affairs.
What is the game missing? What does it need more of? What is there too much of? What works? What doesn't?
What are your thoughts and/or feelings on this subject?
I believe it's in a good state of affairs. There's always room for improvement, but E-fedding is at it's highest point right now. There are thousands upon thousands of handlers and hundreds of feds. Sure they come and go, but there is always somewhere to go and something new popping up.

I have to disagree with the highlighted part of that statement. During the five years that I was a Mod at Roughkut, one of my tasks, along with Triple B, was reviewing e-feds. I was keeping up with 25 - 30 feds week to week as a result. In the period between 2005 - 2010, that was the Golden Age. There were new feds daily. Twitter wasn't around, so most feds had vibrant OOC scenes. There were strong, long-lasting feds, innovative feds, theme & period feds. Yes, Roughkut had a Blacklist, yeah there were some handlers who were like cancer to the game, and feds that pulled some despicable shit too... but for the majority, there was a lot of handlers (way more than there are now) having a lot of fun.
I have to disagree as well, with saying efeds are at their highest point right now. However, I guess it does all depend on what era you where introduce into the hobby. Which, would change your perspective on what you consider good or not. Collin’s considers 2005-2010 the golden age (I knew of RoughKut, but never ever inhabited that place.), while I consider 2000 – 2004 the golden age of this hobby, the eWplanet days. How I miss those days. The Interfeds, the IC news sites, the OOC community of eWplanet, fWo, The Asylum, Action, PIW, and new feds popping up daily.

It should also be pointed out that it's one of Trevor's hobbies to always disagree with me.
Little known fact, I got my start in 1996 in the fWo's farm-fed, Fennell Federation Wrestling. Even got to handle in the fWo briefly (had a feud with The Flying Frenchie) but decided early on that Poser feds were just not my thing. Never felt that my characters looked right.

A hobby. More like a job, no! More like my life mission to disagree with you, haha. Just kidding man. I actually didn't mean to come off sounding like I disagree with you. I meant to disagree with Dick's post. The part you highlighted.
I use to love the Flying Frenchie. That's all I've ever did was poser feds from I think 1998 all the way up until I came to IWA I believe. I think IWA was the first fed I ever used a real wrestler PB. I'd rather poser over real picbases, but real picbases are just so much easier to do.
I consider the current generation of handlers to be very different from when I first started in the hobby. I state this because everyone seems so enveloped in their own interactions and characters and less about the bigger picture than ever before.
There are no more closed off, exclusive communities that select handlers via invitation, rather than allow anyone to join “off the street”. Back when I got into this hobby, all the top feds were invite only and everything else was essentially open to the public. People seemed to value relationships a bit better than today and I think that’s because feds tend to pop up and then disappear more often than they did way back when. Feds generally ran for longer periods of time, too.
Maybe it’s just a generational thing. Perhaps it’s just society and how it has shaped the hobby – you can’t blame that.
But I consider the hobby in a dire state of quality. Sure, there are feds that pop up all the time, but they always lack something.
Less people cherish the story and more people are worried about winning or looking great. This is obvious on Twitter, too. Less people want to sell than ever before, which is sad. Selling is what makes this stuff fun. I’ve won zero championships in Davey’s feds and I’ve always wanted to put someone over. I am the god damn Dolph Ziggler of e-Fedding.

Allow me to rephrase. EFedding is more popular then ever.
What is changing is.. Guys pretending to be tough..Girls using their bodies to get what they want.. and more and more trolls.
I see people brag, "They" cut 10k promos.. they are the best. OKay, so you have no life and spend a lot of time thinking about this..
Getting buried. I see people trash the opponent to the point they quit because they feel defeated.
((NOT ALL)) BUT... Girls these days.. guys are worse. its like a dating game anymore in e-wrestling and they flood the twitter with it.. Nobody cares if you are loving someone because they listened to you cry.. get over it..
and trolls. I know three people who go around trolling people on twitter, facebook and now Instagram.. It kills the motivation to write.
This is why I like this. This is our circle, friendly people and great writers to learn from. More places need to do the same.
since the early days of 2000 - 2006 :: I think efedding is changed and became a popularity contest.
