“What was it you said? ‘I got what I wanted. I always do.’”
Georgia was stood in a room remarkably similar to that which Dick Devereaux has chosen to record his promotional video in the week prior. She pouted and tapped her index finger on her chin as she feigned a thoughtful expression. After a second she shook her head.
“Nope. Can’t say I agree with that, Dick.”
She started to pace from left to right as she spoke, kicking the same pieces of trash out her way that had been in Dick’s path last week.
“Sure, you got your beloved hardcore match last week, and yes that meant you got the briefcase you wanted. Well done. This week though, you’ve not been quite as blessed, have you? I’ve seen the press conferences, and in both you made it pretty clear who you wanted your next opponent to be – Keegan Ryan.”
She laughed to herself.
“You certainly didn’t want a five foot five firecracker, did you? That’s alright though, you didn’t know me then.”
She winked directly to the camera before continuing.
“I get it, Keegan’s a lot like you. I’m sure you would have loved to have that one a hardcore match as well I’m actually quite like Keegan in a lot of ways if that makes you feel any better? I’m more intelligent than you – just like he is. That means I’m going to have that edge over you when it comes to seeing your next move. I’m also faster, which means once I see that move coming, I’ve got the quick reflexes needed to get out of your way.”
She smiled proudly as she thought some more.
“I’m extremely more focused than you are – just like he is. Let’s be honest, the chances of you being distracted by the crowd – or just something shiny – is fairly likely. I won’t miss that and I’ll take full advantage of it; by the time you turn your attention back to me I’ll be hurtling down on you.
I’m fitter than you – just like he is. You’ll get tired way before I will, which should make it pretty easy to dominate from then on; being tired will only make you slower and more distracted."
Georgia shrugged and smiled.
“See? I'm just like him. Actually… that’s not true – I’m better. On top of that, you’re also going to have to deal with my agility. You can talk about how your approach is to break my legs, but you don’t have the speed to stop me climbing that turnbuckle. You also don’t have the focus to keep your attention on me at all times.
I’m not stupid enough to think I’ll come out of this unscathed; of course I’m going to suffer quite a beating – that’s undeniable. What I’m telling you is that what you’ve got just isn’t going to be enough.
She glanced around the dimly lit room with a look of disdain.
“You can put yourself in places like this, and try and intimidate the shit out of me, but it’s not going to work. All it does is confirm exactly what I thought.
You're going to be completely out your comfort zone on this one. So far you’ve had one hell of match - which you turned hardcore - and you’ve had training with Lara Chambers – which was hardcore; she even commented on how ‘bloody’ it had been!
So yes, I’m like Keegan in a lot of ways – just not hardcore. What we’re going into on Sunday is a just a good old regular singles match – can you honestly say you’re good at playing by the rules?"
Georgia walked up close to the camera so that only her face was in shot.
“So, champ. This might not be for that shiny new title of yours, but it may as well be a defence for you. If I beat you on Sunday, how can you possibly claim you deserve to be the Fusion X Champion? That’s a lot of pressure, are you sure you can handle that? No one here knows who I am, win or lose, it doesn’t affect me; I can just come out the week after and put my name on the map then.
You’re the one with something to prove, and unfortunately for you, it’s not against Keegan Ryan."
