So Engage 2: Round Two! Fight! is now posted and available to read.
I'd love it of you could all take 3-4 minutes out of your day to give us feedback on the show, as we worked hard on it for your entertainment, so your feedback, for us, is kind of like validation, or at the very least acknowledgement.
I wanna take this moment to thank Andy for writing this 4 matches. He took care of them and I wrote all the segments and a match.
But yeah, feedback please! It means more than you know.
First segment was a nice one. The press getting some show appearance, Georgia Mack getting the deal, really great opener. It will be interesting how Trixie responds Kyle. Good way to bring in Georgia and give her something. I thought the announcement would be later tbh.
Van vs Seth starting with a low blow! Wow. I liked Coach and Doctor Benson being ringside, supporting their guys. It made me get a first look at Seth, so I was pleasantly surprised by him in the ring. Can't believe Seth hit Coach. Van got some really nice spots too. The Blindside seemed to be vicious. Seth won, I didn't know who would win this match tbh on the RP's
I was waiting to see some Beau on the show. Keegan getting some nice hype in the next segment and I expected a fight, and got one. At least Beau wins the wet t-shirt contest. I smell a match with them two and a couple of water pistols lol
Walter! Yes. I thought he'd be getting the gig. Walter for some reason made the spilled water joke, which I'm expecting to be a running joke in this show (you know, Jimmy show 1, spilled water show 2), he made it funnier. Walter is the War Master lol. I feel so sorry for him with Lana. But it's very entertaining.
Now we have Walter & Georgia! Oh I thought it was gonna be their segment. Nice twist and segue! I love Ernie so much. Find the sausage lol, that rascal. Such a funny bit.
Cage time. I'd say it was probably Match of the Night for Andy. I thought the start was great for Walter's character, had me waiting to see Walter attack. The spot when Walter stopped Keegan, and that big spinebuster was really cool. It was such an entertaining match with Walter's trip and getting 'killed' by Keegan's jacknife. The double win was nice, Walter and Void, "double win" I mean, Void won well. Really great match, I read it seeing Walter as a puppy in a lions dens too.
Becky getting some story is nice. A closure on the injury, 9 months!
Glad I got caught up on the Quinn backstory prior to the appearance of Athena. Made it so much more interesting for me. Lara and Tommy hooking up? Poor Athena. Bobby got some screen time too! I love the dons. Just George and Tony to see now. So many questions, and yes they need answering
Really difficult match up after I read the RP's. Dick's champ and I was interested how he'd do. Georgia did awesome to win! She's now got Aqua Drop and the win over the Fusion X Champ in one night. I was as stunned as Clint was. But then the fallout. Pat and Georgia now with a bit of lip locking. There must be something in the water this week lol, interesting though, now the Ugly Truth is looking out for Trixie? I'd say Georgia may deserve the thumbnail this week
Tommy Quinn and Lara, totally saw Athena bursting in there, nope. Oh wait! Yes! No! Poor Athena. Then Bobby shows up and doesn't spill the beans. Man its building up. And not even done yet, now Trix? This match is getting heavy pre match hype. Ernie getting all protective was adorable lol, and then what I expected happened with Void coming out. Then it gives a title match hype with that pipe? Title fight is going to be a tough one now.
Before the match (and show) Shell may have spoiled the result lol. But the match was nice, Clint flip flops on Trixie hard, sorta. I had some doubt when the octopus stretch. She was right though. Nice match that had me doubt the spoiler. You did a good job Andy.
Tony! 3/4 Dons accounted for. Lex and him don't have quite the same relationship as Ernie and Trix, then again Lara and Bobby don't either. I liked how it went, Lex all calm and silent and stuff.
Yes! Lara and Tommy continues! Bobby trying to help and then Athena pops in, finally! And its all wrong? Bobby throwing a big wrench in the marriage then. Fired! Lara why? I hope he gets a new client at least. He means well.
Jeremy (did type Jimmy on laptop) scoring names out. Had me wondering why. Bensen's a right good agent for arguing for Seth. Jeremy (no Jimmy type) plays a nice manager now lol. Then I learn why he's doing all that. Power league seems fun and big for 8 people. Seth vs Blackbird or Lex will be good.
Caite vs Lex was a really good main event, I'd say just that bit better than last weeks. Lex in no way looked weak at all, and has a clear shot against Seth. I thought Lex had a shot at winning it and the post fight was great hype. I'm so looking forward to the next card.
I think I can't give anything negative. I know everything that happened this week got covered. Walter and Aqua Drop, Lara and Tommy and then everything that started here got an end, but not an end. Room to grow if that makes sense. Matches were good, really good. (Also fantastically formatted too code was superb)
I thought the show was great. I loved the Athena, Tommy and Lara segments, I can tell that's going to get really interesting over the next few weeks. I also think that your portrayal of Walter is brilliant, it's totally in line with what Scott writes and just as enjoyable.
All of the stories with the Dons are really fun. I love the Ernie/Trixie dynamic, as well as Bobby Floyd and Lara - I really hope the dons are around for a good while
Andy did a great job with the cage match, I felt that every character was portrayed perfectly and it all fit together really well.
Georgia as the face of Aqua Drop should be fun, particularly with the latest twist in the tale!
The power league looks like it's going to be really intense and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds!
Overall it was a great show and I don't have anything negative either. I've tried to think, but I genuinely enjoyed every aspect so well done to both you and Andy
It's nice to know there's two of you out of the 17 here who can be bothered to take 3-4 minutes of their day to acknowledge the 10+ hours Andy and I take to entertain you.
I thought it was a good show overall and the matches were well written. I like the segments but the one that made me laugh was Beau and Keegan aI don't know it was just amusing. Keep up the good work guys.
Hey now that I have time to sit down and type coherently... I wanted to say I'm really impressed with how you played off Lex in that seg. You were SPOT ON perfect with his mindset and how he would have said it (believe me, I've had people get that way wrong before) so I was fist pumping thrilled you nailed it.
Loved the tension and the screwup with Lara/Bobby/Athena/Tommy. I could see that headed off the rails and it was cringeworthy but great to read. The matches were all suspenseful. Legit had no idea what was going to happen between Trix/Lara and my match. Was surprised at the announcement of the power league and how that's going to decide contenders. Very cool build into the next cards.
As far as feedback, as usual, your depiction of my characters reflects that you know them well; both dialogue and action were completely consistent on all fronts. The portrayal of Walt in his match was a perfect introduction for the many flaws in his game, which is a perfect segue for his story going forward, as it has opened up the transition for me to introduce Crazy Ike to the story.
The Lara / Quinn story is a fun throwback as a continuation of their stories from DC. I like the emergence of Athena.
The Spilled Water thing is funny.
I like the Dr. Benson bit, with its nod to DC and the threats if Seth isn't give opportunities.
I am starting to see the benefit, from a competitive RP standpoint, of the extended match results. From a storytelling perspective (and from someone who hasn't watched wrestling in many, many years), I have always preferred the summarized results and found more entertainment in the segments. But so much info goes into the matches, as written, that it provides so much fodder for competitive rps, as you can literally scout out your opponents. Kudos for the work that's going into them.
Very good job. I know you both put a shitload of effort into writing this stuff, and I am sure I speak for everyone when I say it is appreciated.
