Hey all,
I just wanted to better express my position from my earlier post, just so that it doesn’t come across as an attack on you as handlers or people. That’s not my intention at all.
People who know me will tell you that I work best as a fed head when handlers are active, enthusiastic and engaged with the content that I’m putting out. When only a small percentage of handlers in the fed give me that, I lose interest quickly, because sitting at home on the weekend, writing your segments, helping write your matches to give you entertainment is only worthwhile when there’s appreciation and acknowledgement, either through feedback, through interaction and continuation of stories, through use of the fed features, or all of the aforementioned.
I invest a minimum of 14 hours between Saturday and Sunday putting results together for you, every week. Not bi-weekly, not monthly - every single week. I don’t do it for money. I do it at the expense of quality time with my friends and family. Do I want to do it? Quite honestly? No. I don’t.
I don’t want to do this. I came back to this hobby to scratch a graphics itch. That was 2 years ago. I’m now a qualified graphic designer working for clients full time. I don’t need this hobby anymore. This hobby is actually a drain on my time and my creative tank. But I feel trapped into continuing and I tolerate that feeling because I tell myself that I’m providing entertainment to people across the globe who need it; who need the release from the pressures of real life. So I do it as a good deed, quite frankly.
So you’ll forgive me for getting a little frustrated when only 2 out of 17 potential handlers bother to give feedback; bother to take FIVE MINUTES out of their day to just let me know “Hey, I did read it, thanks for writing it. I liked this, I didn’t like that, I wanna see more of this.” It’s not a lot to ask for.
You’ll also forgive me if I get a little frustrated at seeing how dead the site has been since Friday night. I get that people are busy. I get it. I’m not trying to prioritise the fed over anything, but when there looks like a distinct lack of effort from everyone, bar 2-3 handlers, it leads me to question why I’m bothering? If there’s not enough demand for it, then I’m no longer trapped. I can walk away happily and never look back on this hobby again.
If you want this fed to continue, show me that. If not, no worries. You’d be doing me a big ol’ favour. I’m not doing this for me, I’m doing it for you guys. If that’s not necessary, I’ll just get my coat, lol.
